How to use social media to engage with your audience

Introduce yourself to your target audience

Your main goal is to introduce yourself to your target audience. The word "introduce" makes you automatically assume I mean to say that I want you to go to as many people in our target audience and say "hi". ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Thanks to social media, there are SO MANY WAYS TO INTRODUCE yourself. In fact, ANY kind of engagement you have on social media will list your handle alongside with your activity. That is an introduction! A simple 'like' can be considered an introduction on social media!

We often want an engaging introduction, but often times, on social media, there is a fine line between engaging and spamming.

NO to leaving 10 like on 10 different profiles <<< spamming
YES to leaving 10 likes on 1 profile <<< engaging

You will stand out more without saying anything if you show simple attention to 1 profile versus leaving 1 comment on a bunch of different profiles.

Use social media to generate leads

Find 1 business to follow on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn. 'Like' as much of their content as you actually like, and leave real feedback. Laugh at posts that are funny, and leave appropriate comments on their post. Do NOT leave any comments asking them to do anything or trying to sell anything. By doing the previous, you have just introduced yourself AND you have made yourself likeable, more likely then not they will check out your page to see who you are. Your page should have content that attracts and clearly communicates your product. Your visitor already likes you, if they need the services you're offering, they will WANT to use you! Now you just need to scale these efforts!

The more businesses you get visiting you, and reaching out to you, the easier generating leads will be.

Your first step has to be precisely and completely determining your target audience. This is a very important step because catastrophic losses in leads are usually due to this. We cover this in another blog article you can find here https://blog.organicmedia.agency/why-do-you-need-a-target-audience. .

Your goals, when you are on social networks, are to introduce yourself and engage with prospects.

When you are using social media it is very easy to get lost "going down the rabbit hole". We want to avoid spamming users, and spending unnecessary energy on spontaneous engagements. Let's go over how we can create conversions, conversations, and creativity.

Connect / Follow Prospects - Know who you target audience is, and find them. We go over who and how to find your target audience in another article you can find here https://blog.organicmedia.agency/why-do-you-need-a-target-audience. When you are requesting a friendship or connection be sure you include a legitimate reason. Legitimate reasons can include wanting to understand your target better.

For example, "I see that you are a family dentist in Miami, { here is where you can ask a question }?".

In order to better understand your target, ask a question that you have predetermined is necessary to know. Now you are genuinely engaging with your target.

Like / React ( the introduction ) - Leaving likes and reactions will get you listed in your target audience's alerts. This is a good first way to say hi.

Comment ( engagement ) - First engage with their content, genuinely. When we talk about genuinely engaging we do NOT mean to say "leave LONG comments" NOOOOO! We mean to say, use who you are, your actual likes, dislikes, knowledge or lack of on subject and respond accordingly. Trust that they will WANT to engage with your content if applicable.

For example, "I did not know that { enter something you learned from the post that is complimentary }".

Most businesses post FYIs and other fun facts to intrigue and captivate their audience, whether it be before and after pictures, or just pictures from the office. There is a message they are trying to convey with each post and an organic response to their message is a genuine and engaging one, just be sure to always keep it complimentary. Never mention anything about yourself or business goals in the comment section unless they specifically ask.

Repost Content - Be sure you have content that makes it clear what your goals are. In this instance, to find people who need to hire a developer to help them with their WordPress goals. You don't have to worry about this part as ALL content will be provided to you. You will use the main social media page to repost content from. You are welcome to add any tags, hashtags, and mentions you find necessary.

Share - There are 6 actions you can take on a post on Facebook that users are alerted by and ACTUALLY strive for. "Likes", "reactions", "comments", "tags", "mentions" and "shares". People like when their content is shared. This will build up your Facebook page's content as well.

Tag - You are able to "tag" things on Facebook. You can tag a product, place, or even events that appear in your posts. Tags are associated with URLs that you can use to find the product in the real world. You can tag your logo and direct users to articles on your website when you find it appropriate. You can also tag other businesses if they appear, can offer, or compete with the entitiy being tagged.

Mention - When a person, place or item shows up in your picture AND they have a handle, you can include them in your post by "mentioning" their handle in your post. This will alert the handle owners that they appeared in a post you posted. I would mention a business if it is a post they are actually in or if it would be something they'd be very interested in! Do NOT mention businesses unnecessarily.
